Hello! Thanks for visiting my site. My name is Brad Lane, and I am a freelance writer and photographer currently based in Missoula, Montana. Much of my ongoing work these days is for the online travel publication, PlanetWare, who use my specialties as an online travel writer. Over the last eight years, I have authored a dozen magazine articles and developed several professional photos for print. I have also generated hundreds of blog posts to add to my extensive Freelance Writing Portfolio.
Much of my work centers around travel and the great outdoors. Whether it’s reporting on top hiking trails at a national park or advocating for outdoor recreation, I strive to live by the words I produce. One of my favorite adventures so far is my 2016 thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail. My most recent favorite place to be is the Crown of the Continent right at my backdoor: Glacier National Park.
My freelance writing career began with a student commencement speech I delivered upon graduating from the University of Iowa in 2012. Minutes from receiving my undergraduate degree in Accounting, this speech was the first spark of confidence I needed to pursue a life of writing. It’s been a real adventure as a freelance writer ever since, and I can’t wait to share what comes next.
