If I had to determine the official start to my freelance writing endeavors, I would consider the opportunity to deliver the student commencement speech for the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa a real jumping off point. After applying, auditioning and being selected to speak in front of a crowd of 2,000 people, the moment it was done I decided to pursue more opportunities to share words with people.
